Every transactional attorney must be aware of the ethical issues that are unique to the area of law in which they practice. These issues may arise in the context of business transactions, mergers and acquisitions, real estate and/or trust and estate matters. You need to be on the lookout for issues relating to confidentiality, conflicts of interest, and other matters that can lead to potential ethical problems for you and your clients.

During this practical program, a panel of New Jersey authorities will familiarize you with the common ethical pitfalls you may confront in each type of transactional practice. They will show you how to recognize ethical dilemmas, how to guard against them, and what to do if you are caught in such a situation.

SHARPEN YOUR ABILITY TO RECOGNIZE AND DEAL WITH ETHICAL PROBLEMS AS THEY ARISE IN A WIDE VARIETY OF TRANSACTIONAL MATTERS, INCLUDING…
• An overview of ethics rules applicable to transactional lawyers - David H. Dugan, III, Esq.

• Ethical issues for real estate practitioners - Arthur S. Horn, Esq.

• Ethical issues for trust attorneys and estate planning practitioners - Cynthia Sharp, Esq.

• Ethical issues for business lawyers - Philip L. Chapman, Esq.

• Conflicts of interest when representing two or more clients on the same side of a business transaction - Gianfranco A. Pietrafesa, Esq.

                 …and more
